The school is divided into three sections:

Nursery School
Boys and Girls age 3+ - "Northwood Prep Nursery".

Junior School
Boys aged 4-7, including Reception

Senior School
Boys aged 7-13

In all sections of the school, we have adopted a World Class Outlook - that is to say that we are committed to continuous school improvement. We are attentive to educational research at a theoretical level as well as looking to adopt the best practice from wherever it may be found in the world of education. Recent initiatives include the development of a number of practitioner research projects that attempt to answer key concerns e.g the benefits of formal grammar teaching of modern languages, the benefits of outdoor education; adoption of the highly acclaimed Singapore Maths scheme; participation in the National College's Middle Leadership programme; the advancement of regular peer observation [with particular emphasis on teachers' questioning] and the encouragement of higher order thinking involving skills of analysis and synthesis; embracing elements of the "Philosophy for Children" initiative; developing staff expertise through expert coaching and mentoring.

Teachers at the school regularly study for part-time, higher degrees. There is a successful teacher exchange programme with Harrow, Bangkok.
