A warm welcome to all our visitors who have come to school for our 4+ assessments.
We also must say a special well done to Shrenik for successfully completing the European Computer Driving Licence award at the school. This is an internationally recognised adult computer qualification and Shrenik is the first pupil to complete the course before the end of Year 8. If you did not receive an e-mail or text to inform you that the school was closed last Thursday, please would you up-date the school office with any new contact details. Kind regards, as always Trevor Lee TopKS3 News

As we approach half-term there have been two excellent performances by Years 5 and 6 of ‘Pilgrim’, written in 1978 by Michael Hurd to celebrate the tercentenary of the publication of ‘Pilgrims Progress’ by John Bunyan. Thanks to Mr Griffiths for all his effort and to the staff for their support. Education Sunday, with the theme of slavery, was a success at St John’s Church in Northwood, where the Senior Choir sung beautifully and there were some excellent individual performances by Greshan Rasiah, Y8S, & Peter Ladd, Y8W. Well done to all who performed, to the parents who turned up and to Mr Griffiths for his work with the boys. There has also been the entertaining Year 6, 7 and 8 disco attended by our boys and some local girls schools. In sport there has been football against Thorpe House, Davenies, Gayhurst, and Belmont with mixed results. The most notable achievement was from the U8’s who won the plate competition at the Mr Rice TopJunior School News
We were thrilled that so many boys and their parents took part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch. During assembly the other week, all of the budding ornithologists showed the rest of the school the birds they had observed and what they had learned. We have also been listening to a CD of different bird calls and watching video clips of various garden birds on the RSPB website. Year 2 visited the Florence Nightingale Museum this week, and once again, had a great day out whilst learning so much about Florence Nightingale, a very interesting figure in nursing and Victorian history. More details of their visit will be included in the next newsletter. Miss McNerney Topsports newsA whole host of fixtures have taken place in the last few weeks. At the end of January the U10 A and B team took on Thorpe House and emerged with an A team victory courtesy of a Morgan Kilmartin goal and a Dilen Sheth goal earned the B’s a draw. On the same day our U11B team grabbed a 2-0 win away at Thorpe House. Savan Shah and Joseph Silva grabbed a goal each in an excellent performance. All age groups were in action the following week against Davenies. Our U9’s both lost, although the B’s were very unlucky as they went down 3-2, with Dominic O’Tuminu grabbing two goals. Our 1st XI team had a hard fought draw, Joshua Marks the scorer of a great goal away at Davenies. Most impressive performance of the week was from the Under 10A team. They played superb football and were hugely unlucky to go down 1-0. Last week the U9 A team beat Gayhurst convincingly 4-2. Luke Withell returned from injury to score two goals and Neel Bhalla also netted. The B team played very well in earning a 1-1 draw, and the C’s lost. Our Senior boys found the going tough against Belmont. The 1st XI battled hard against Belmont before going down 4-2 and our 2nd’s emerged with great credit in their 2-1 defeat. Final mention must go to our U8A squad who emerged from Mr johnson TopMIP & MVPMost Valuable PupilThis time we congratulate Bradley Henwood (Y7) Peter Ladd (Y8) Most Improved PupilThis time we congratulate Jack Bonnamy (Y7) Shrenik Sanghrajka (Y8) To encourage further effort and achievement, two cups are awarded to boys in the Senior School each week: Most Valuable Pupil of the week and Most Improved Pupil of the week. uniform saleThursday 1st March 3.30 pm– 4.30 pm Senior School Hall parents' association Topmusic newsCongratulations to all boys in Year 5 and 6 who have been wowing parents with their performances of Michael Hurd’s cantata Pilgrim based on John Bunyan’s classic A Pilgrim’s Progress.
