After completing an environmental review, the eco-action team put together some short term targets that the school will try to achieve by the end of the Autumn Term. |
Children should all bring in healthy snacks for break time. As well as being better for their well-being the remains of the snacks can be collected and put into the school’s wormery. |
All water should be brought to school in a sports water bottle so that it can be used again and again. This way we can reuse it before we recycle |
In order to save energy around the school we are all going to try to turn off lights if we are the last to leave a room. We are also going to remember to shut down computers if we are the last class to use them. We will also try to turn off the monitors between classes. We will hopefully be able to see a decrease in the amount of energy used which will correlate with a reduced electricity bill. |
All used paper and plastic bottles need to be placed in a recycling bin. These are placed around the school at various points that are easily accessible to both staff and pupils. Paper should be used on both sides before it is recycled. |
All snacks should be brought into school in a plastic container rather than a plastic bag that takes hundreds of years to decompose |
